There is no such thing as a genuine pump. There have been 4 hype cycles in btc, this is just another hype cycle. Each of these hype cycles have had a parabolic advance and then a big dump. Yes it may dump eventually but this is not the end. Although the percentages decreate for each new cycle, the order of magnitude is much larger.

Do anything you want, there's no right or wrong way. The safest option is to everything off exchanges to private wallets and sell most of it for fiat, buy back in during a bear market. The riskier option is to keep half your holdings on an exchange that could go down and short at the right signals. There's going to be a massive cleansing of unbacked stablecoins, privacycoins, bitfinex, coins without kyc blockchains, exchanges without KYC requirements, and possibly even unlicensed exchanges.
