The reason is that Nazis=Bad and therefore they must be portayed as demonic inhumanely evil beings that just murdered millions for no good reason.
This was part of the post WW2 propaganda effort, most old people still knew why it happened, but they were so traumatized by the war that they took that knowledge to their graves

actually no. Information on this is extremely scarce which makes me even more suspicious.
There are a scary amount of plausible conspiracy theories about them though e.g. murder of lincoln, sinking of the titanic etc.

The best way to learn about the fed is to look at major events that you think might be connected to them and try to find "consiracy theories" of them and then check how much truth they contain. DYOR is really the only way afaik
