Anyone here makes money in Youtube? What are the metrics you look at to try to make some sense out of the algorithm clusterfuck? CTR% , watchtime, retention %?

What seems clear to me is that if your video does not get recommended you are fucked, its the only way to get traffic, unless you are a celebrity since people actively seek your next upload. Other than that, it's all recommended. Having a ton of subs is useless if once again, you arent some sort of celebrity, most subs dont get notified anymore.

Also, monetizing outside of Adsense seems like a waste of time, unless, once a fucking gain, you are some sort of celebrity-big authority influencer figure in whatever niche. Most kids just go from video to video, they dont buy shit, they will ignore your affiliate links.

YT is the only way i've ever made any money online, basically adsense. I don't know how it works outside of it. What metrics to look at, how organic traffic is reached.. like I said, CTR, retention, watchtime, and recommended section is what i look for, I don't know what you outside of YT.
