someone explain how avalanche. works and why it's so special? I get that you can vote by random sampling. But what if my node just gets connected to the network and I see 2 different blockchains? How do I know which one is real?

Good stocks get shilled here first. GME, TSLA, CTRM, SOXL, etc. was shilled here extensively before they took off. GME being the latest pump, was shilled first on /smg/ before the pandemic crash of March 2020. IIRC, rat poster and Meidri poster shilled GME here around April-May.
