Is such a thread even relevant on /biz/ anymore? It's all crypto, save for the autist who thought plundering dead drug dealers would be a sound idea.

If it is, let me introduce a matrix scheme: just like a pyramid scheme, but less known and less obviously illegal. How it works:
>offer a prize, it could be cash or an expensive item
>to get the prize, you have to buy in with a much smaller sum than the prize is worth (so for example if a $500 TV is the prize, you just need to buy a $50 trinket to get in)
>buying in gets you on a waiting list where a number of people, say, 19, must get behind you to claim a prize
>when you're on top of such a list you win the prize, the next person starts their own queue and needs to get 19 new people behind them
>result: for every 20 participants the organizer gets $1000 and has to give out just one prize, pocketing the remaining $500 (I made up the numbers in order to demonstrate the point)
>only thing needed is a website, a bullshit product to sell and a bitcoin wallet to collect payments
>no big ad campaign needed, once you get several marks they will recruit new participants themselves

What does /biz/ think about such a racket? Could it be profitable in the current year? Anyone interesting in using the idea (poorfag here, putting it out for someone else to use).

General make money fast thread.
