There are plenty of technical jobs that require physically being present, a degree, and the ability to problem solve. But fuck me is it hard to get someone to interview, and then to get quality guys from the interview pool. If you can follow a series of 3 to 5 written instructions correctly you are already in the upper 99% of the population.

I needed my less experienced coworkers to prepare four different 5 gallon buckets of waters with specific concentrations of metals in them for a set of experiments. We gave them the spreadsheet to do the math, double checked their amounts were right, and left them to prepare them.

7 days later, they're halfway through the experimental plan by the time I get to analyze their feed buckets. Everything is wrong, some metals are to high by 30%, some are too low by 20%, some values would have been right but they mixed up which bucket was supposed to get what. I'm realizing that on Monday I'm going to have to tell our manager that they fucked it up in the 3 unsupervised hours they got in a week, and that we need to chuck it all out and start from scratch.

Oh, and each bucket has about 11,000 USD worth of metal salts in it.

The S&P500 index has been established since 1957, and on average over its history posted a mean return of 11.2%. The worst and best returns annually were -43.8% (1931) and 52.6% (1954). The mean annual return of the last 25 years is 9.3% and over the last 10 years is 13.9.

This shouldn't be controversial. I think the mutual funds he shills are trash that have never beat the market after fees. I think that a large part of the parabolic gain in the stock market has been QE funny money and near infinite retirement fund dollars that are soon to dial back. But there is a good reason that the overwhelming majority of American millionaires credit their tax deferred retirement accounts with building the bulk of their wealth. Start compounding young, and keep it up.

You faggots literally lived through the dawn of social media, e-commerce, and crypto + the greatest bull run we’ll ever see while we’re alive and didn’t take advantage of any of those to build any substantial wealth. Now I understand why boomers hate you niggers so much.
