The future contracts were actually created to extinguish demand.
The same can probably be said for SLV, GLD and IAU.
There was a research report that showed when sprott adds metal, the prices on the open market rise. When SLV and GLD "add metal" nothing happens.

Found it. This is from wikileaks. in 1974 a gold futures market was dreamed to remove demand for physical.
Cash settled Eth futures are a price control mechanism. This is not bullish.
