Non asshole advice is to do it in a chill way. It was casual skater friends who pushed me back into it after a long hiatus. Just cruising through the beach at night and stopping at bars and having fun and not worrying about tricks and any of the other bs of the modern skate scene. If it wasn't for those "casual skaters" who never broke bones jumping down stairs or spent days and weeks trying to land something the fire would have never been rekindled and I would have never gotten back into it fully to where im pushing myself to improve constantly. At the end of the day you are pushing a fucking wooden stick on wheels so how "cool" can you really be? If you feel joy feeling the wind on your face as you cruise through the streets at night nothing else matters.
