When the market bottoms, everything still goes to shit for a while. Layoffs, earnings reports, GDP, rate hikes will all keep happening for 1-2 years after market bottoms.

To buy the bottom, you literally have to buy in when there's still a shitty outlook on everything ("buy when there's blood on the streets"). That's likely why the market recently gigapumped: recent announcements of big layoffs and hiring freezes, everyone knows Q4 earnings will be shit.

Even permabears like Burry expect the bottom to be soon (Q1 2023). DCA'ing from now to March will probably get you close.
