What is the option then?
I dont see how you can be hostage to some particular crypto?

You dont need anything but original p2p cash system.
I will make fortunes copying some of existing tokens to bitcoin (cash) blockchain.

this

total market cap is a flawed metric to value crypto anyway. mine 100 trillion of your own crypto and sell one to your neighbour for a dollar and now you're #1 on coinmarketcap

all that's needed for BCH to take over is one more time with 50 USD fees on BTC. people will realize that SegWit and Lightning did nothing and that all of BTC's problems are still there. personally i think BCH will take the top spot in 5 years (yeah it won't happen overnight)

Oh look, 70% of all the shops in Cyprus will be accepting Bitcoin Cash.

Roger Ver is flying around all over the world and holding conferences and talking with important people, he's the kind of guy you really want on your side of crypto. What guy do these things for BTC? Are there any news of anything happening on BTC at all?

not going to be so easy now that BCH is in the picture. censorship and propaganda will only work for so long.

only reason why BTC is gaining anything is because most people still dont know there are two versions of bitcoin and because of the propaganda coming out from the BTC side.

all that's needed for a lot of people to wake up and realize that all BTC's problem are still there is for BTC's fees to skyrocket to 50 bucks again. nothing has changed since december, segwit adoption has slowed down and even if 100% were segwit txs they would just increase the number of tx/s by 70% at best.

looks like you didn't even read my post since you repeated the same url again.

besides, that site you keep linking to can totally be done onchain. it's not like it's designed to send 1 satoshi at a time anyway, you draw what you want and then send your payment for all the pixels.

regardless i'll just repeat what i said since you didnt read it the first time: lightning network is still super small and used by almost nobody. routing still doesn't scale without centralized backbone hubs (though admittedly normies usually doesn't care about the ideology side).

If you guys are so worried about something hurting your investment why not invest in it instead of just whining about it?

Less than a year ago BTC worked just like BCH, just with a smaller block size limit and with replaceable transactions.

OP whether or not it's a good thing is irrelevant, it's just reality. You changing over to BTC doesn't change what >>9747711 said.

It's possible that Bitmain controls 50% of all bitcoins in existence on both forks. If they just mined for a year before releasing the ASICs on the market that's the reality we're stuck with.

At least I'm assuming that's what you meant with "having one company control all the hash". There's really no other way to read it because on paper both forks have equal amounts of mining pools and there's no way to know how much one company is mining on any of them.

*I should mention that in theory you only need to move 5.5% of BTC's hashrate over to BCH to be able to attempt a double spend attack. This is because you decrease the required hashrate to profit on BTC while increasing it on BCH, in theory this might push miners over from BCH to BTC which eventually leavs you with half the hashrate on BCH since so many miners switched over to the now-more-profitable BTC blockchain. Still, this theoretical situation is only true for existing BTC miners (those that stand to benefit the most if there are two blockchains to mine on), if someone new wants to attack BCH he will still need 11% of BTC's hashrate. To get a feeling of how big the attacking miner would be, estimates in 2015 show that all of Google's servers could only produce 1% of BTC's hashrate.
