Millenials are the generation that grew up hearing the divorce rape horror stories. Gen X/Boomers were the first to experience mass no fault divorce rape and feminist family courts.

There is basically nothing in marriage for men. Nothing. Even the tax advantages are gone. No one is religious, so the union itself is secular and meaningless. It's a state contract piece of shit paper. And it comes with a $30k price tag right out of the gate with the wedding. Men already get sex, men already get companionship, children out of wedlock are no longer taboo. The factors just pile up and up.

Lastly, there's an underappreciated fact that husbandhood/fatherhood has been vilified and lampooned in media for decades now. During the 50's/60's, the husband/father was represented as noble, capable, respected, a figure of authority. Boys watched that and wanted to be one. Since then, almost every single husband/father in movies TV has been some blend of idiot, asshole, henpecked beaten down betabux. It is a title of mockery and contempt. "Dads are uncool" has been a long running notion for a while now, but it wasn't always this way. Pretty much never prior to the advent of mass media, they were the leader of the family and household and boys aspired to become one. This culture is rotten and sick to the core.

I've been booking flights for this summer and wow, ticket prices have jacked right up, more expensive than before COVID now. People are planning their summer vacations en masse and everybody is going to burst out of the gates with lockdowns ending.
