I'm not going to say there is going to be hurt, but all in production costs for shale are at or near Saudi levels.

Furthermore, shale platforms, unlike Saudi, are built on a small-but-many production scale.

This means that the shutdown and recomissioning costs for US Shale are orders of magnitude lower than OPEC oil so they are much, much, much, much better at withstanding oil price spikes and drops.

I certainly wouldn't want to be Canadian Oil Sands, Saudi Oil, Iranian Oil or Venezualan Oil right now. THEY are really fucked.
