>want to break my part of a lease with a couple roomates (they stay) and have a qualified tenant lined up to take my place
>ask the landlord
>he asks "What's in it for me? This is business. This seems like a lot of extra work for me".

Is this actually a lot of extra work for him? He seems lazy so maybe i should offer him a non-refundable deposit to allow me to sublet to the new tenant and i handle all the screening etc.?

What would be a good way to get out of this without paying the entire exit fee (1500$).

ITT: We come up with a standard low risk plan to achieve enough financial independence to be able to play vidya all day and not have to answer to anyone. This could also be used to start off your quest to get rich if that suits you, but keep in mind this is for bare bones/budget independence.

First, cut down your expenses. Adopt a /fit/ diet, walk or bike instead of walking etc. Thrift your clothes or buy on sale. No stupid shit.

Then, find a job and save up for a down payment on a piece of multi family property which cashflows enough that you either break even or make a little bit of profit. This can likely be done after a couple years of a decent job. Now you've got a place you can stay even if shit goes bad otherwise.

Where should we go from here? Index funds? More real estate?

So I've become a wagecuck as an engineer working for the government in a large facility that employs both trades people and white collar positions.

I've noticed the majority of trades people smoke/dip, drink energy drinks/soda, drive their personal vehicles and pay parking fees every single day, refuse to sign up for unions cause "it aint worth it" even though dues are 20$ a month, buy lunch from a store on break every day, don't invest in their TSP or put only the minimum matching amount, and buy toys with every pay check. If other trades people try to break away from this pattern, they get made fun of by the other people and aren't well liked.

The white collar people mostly seem to do the opposite of all of this.

Why is this? I always thought it was wrong to assume trades people were "dumber", but this is extremely eye opening for me.

>co-worker got into bitcoin
>won't ever, EVER, shut the fuck up about it
>got my friend into bitcoin
>now he can't shut the fuck up about it either
>don't even talk to them during dinner or lunch because they just talk about bitcoin
>plans to get the whole office into cryptocurrency
>I'm going to have to put up with this shit for a fucking year
When is the government going to end this shit?
