with those who speak and feel in their hearts: ‘We already know what is good and righteous, and we have it too; woe to those who are still seeking here!’

And whatever harm the evil may do, the harm done by the good is the most harmful harm!

And whatever harm even the world-slanderers may do, the harm done by the good is the most harmful harm.

O my brothers, one man once saw into the hearts of the good and the righteous, and said: ‘They are Pharisees.’* But he was not understood.

The good and the righteous themselves could not understand him: their spirit is imprisoned in their good conscience. The stupidity of the good is unfathomably clever.

But the truth of the matter is this: the good must be Pharisees– they have no choice! The good must crucify him who invents his own virtue! That is the truth!

But the second one to discover their land, the land, heart, and soil of the good and the righteous: that was he who then asked: ‘Whom do they hate the most?’

The creator is who they hate the most: he who breaks tablets and old virtues, the breaker– they call him a law breaker.

For the good– they cannot create: they are always the beginning of the end– — they crucify him who writes new values on new tablets, they sacrifice the future to themselves— they crucify all human future!
