how do you guys feel about the election? im debating between holding this for at least a year for tax purposes or selling before the election and buying back in after the election. i know some people here think the election is meaningless for stock movements and I think Trump can't lose but who fucking knows in this crazy world, Biden scares the shit out of me.

how many percentage points do you guys think AAPL will go up 2 months after the split?

the key is you gotta fucking hold that shit for at least a month and not get shaken out by intraday moves. literally just don't even have a stop loss, your stop loss is you just fucking wait. you wait and do nothing and make money eventually. these aren't penny stocks.

do you really think TSLA is going to be worth less just before battery day than it is now?
do you really think AAPL is going to be worth less a year from now than it is now?

TINA is pretty reliable currently as long as you have the sense to buy&hold instead of micromanaging it. anyone getting in now is basically getting in early before the real mooning begins over the next month for TSLA. AAPL is AAPL so it probably doesn't matter where you buy in, the earlier the better, but i'll keep posting this pic to remind people of what happened last time. only thing is, you have to wait a month or two, and these zoomers aren't patient at all.

also im just gonna keep posting this every time im in these threads for a reminder to buy and hold. hopefully it'll get through some of your thick skulls to stop looking at the 1m chart.

the market runs on hype now. the key to making profits today is finding where they hype is, riding the momentum, and getting out before the hyped up event actually occurs and reality is worse than expectations.

forward splits are free money though. the only expectation of the event is that it will be cheaper and therefore more people will buy it which will make it go up even more, so it's kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy. TSLA's battery day is the one you gotta be careful of, not the split. AAPL doesn't have any major catalysts coming up soon afaik so that should be fine to hold on to long term as well but it will probably slow down and consolidate after a couple of months.

splits are interesting. reverse splits happen to shitty companies and the stock usually tanks afterwards. meanwhile forward splits happen to only the best companies and they usually skyrocket afterwards. for example pic related.
