I bet you we will. The hedgies are able to hedge the exposure of GME to zero using total return swaps. Nothing about a TRSwap can adjust the price to make it bad value so people stop buying. They can do nothing to prevent the buying and they can do nothing about real-shares being locked up in ComputerShare. In the grand scope of things, individual retail buying is an afterthought. The problem they are having is that we literally have 65% of the free float locked up (and probably over 100% sitting on the books of brokers).
There is literally no fud that you can come up with that can stop MOASS. And I will also laugh my ass off if Wallstreet, the feds and the SEC literally have to flip the table and admit to the whole world the American capital markets are a ponzi scheme. The outflows of capital will be hysterical as everyone starts hedging their bets and selling EVERYTHING to buy up PMs. Gold is making all time highs right now today. That's why this is such an issue. Everyone knows what the fuck is happening and they know full well to never ever sell not even for A TRILLION DOLLARS per share.
Even that old hedge fund manager admitted that GME can go to infinity. The problem is they literally shifted the supply/demand curve so much that the lines no longer even touch. It's impossible to close if the longs don't let them. They will no doubt get greedy and take their tendies. But if enough people refuse to close there is no stopping the price. People can be millionaires and just sit around watching wallstreet squirm as they do day and week ad month long halts on the share price.
