It is a speculative point but I understand what you mean, though remember that using physical gold coins is very different to using gold-backed currency.

Silver still holds some value because of its historical status as money, but most people under 35 wouldn't have ever used silver currency knowingly, and most zoomers are amazed when they see cash (I know this because my dad is a teacher so I hear all the fun stories). Physical money is moreorless dead in a digital world, and with it goes the primary historical use case of silver.

If/when the fiat system collapses, I still don't see any country returning to physical cash. Maybe we return to a gold-backed digital currency, more likely we move to a new fiat digital currency and start a whole new mess, but I really struggle to see silver being used as money anywhere in the future based on the world we live in now.
