Any ways to make $$$ off of credit card cash back offers? You can't balance transfer (as far as I know) between cards and get cash back, and anything else you do will probably be more expensive than the 1-2% you earn.

Try saying that to a poor fucker that's fallen on hard times trying to take care of his family, money makes sure that someone can cover bills. Buy food. Buy those things you can fulfill your dreams with.

Anyone who thinks that money can't buy happiness has never looked at other people's situations.

What financial related internships are out there that don't require much verbal communication?

I'd like to keep at a minimum due to my social anxiety but I'll get used to it and move on towards positions that require more out of me.

Hey there /biz/ I wanted to have a discussion today on something im working on right now as an intern, promotional analysis. A bit of Background before I get started, I'm a recent economics grad and I've been working for a large regional grocer since highschool. I got into this unadvertised internship program at the corporate office, where I'm the first intern they've ever had on the merchandising side of the business.
So today my boss was talking to me about what I'm getting out of my time there so far, and we decided to start a new process where we analyze our weekly promotions for some of the biggest brands in my department, and try and quantify the benefits to both us and them that different promo strategies give. So for instance we'd be comparing putting something on BoGo to running it for a dollar off. I have a few questions for you guys to get the ball rolling, and I'll share with you guys what I've brainstormed so far (within reason, I can't diverge a lot of detail)

First, what types of data would you look for when trying to quantify what benefits a promotion gives, without going overboard. Obviously I'm going to need both sales dollars and units for a given week, and what kind of promotion we ran. But should I include price? Or would the variance in price be kind of redundant since I'm already using variables for whether or not i'm running a BoGo sale ect. I'm sure this is getting a bit long winded so I'll let discussion get started and you guys can ask me more questions if you'd like.
