you do that and your port wont change at ALL. then you sell your Qs when you think were topped and flip short or just let your puts ride
now if you dont have that much dosh, you can buy some shares, then the difference between that amount of shares and your deltas, you can make up for with a call that has the delta of this difference
end result pretty much the same, but youve just added in theta and vega as well too so its less of a good hedge
