Does anyone know of a decentralized protocol where one can bet on something and "trade" that bet as a token?
For example, I wanna bet that france wins against germany, france now scores a goal so my bet increases in value, I now want to sell my bet for profit.
The odds of the bet winning would be determined by the market in the following way. Users deposit eth into a pool, announce their bet and mint a token for every eth deposited. In the end the winners can redeem each of their tokens for a (all winning tokens)'th of the pool. The losers' tokens become worthless.
We could expand this idea to more than just sports of course. Bet that bitcoin price will be above 17k in december.
Very inarticulate post I know, but surely someone has come with this already right? What's it called?
This would also give us much better insight to the masses, and decentralize probabilities that would normally be determined by bookies who always win, or kick you out.
