Imagine reading this and buying Chainlink at $0.20. Three years later it peaks at $50. Even if it has performed shitty since then the returns were absolutely insane and a cult following was born.

Either
a) DR;NS
b) Follow the project closely, understand everything about it
But for me, it's still the time spend in the whitepaper in 2017 and understand why it is needed. Why blockchain is essentially useless without it.
There are no competitors, we're just so far ahead of anything else. The hiring spree this year in both the core team and the research side of things just shows it.

this comment is why you didnt buy link
biz is always full of spam, but you need to learn to critically analyze
throughout 2018-19 biz was heavily discussing link, the most discussed project by far
even if you had been here you would have never made it through the fud anyway so just stop thinking about it

The fudding prior to mainnet was great, we got to accumulate so much, so cheap. But the idiots that thought it was still "cool" to FUD after are a factor in the price. I think so too with the militant shilling on Twitter. The project is hard to understand. Lastly, most people are fucking stupid and just want to buy a faster Bitcoin or a better Ethereum (while still not really getting what Ethereum does either).
But meh, I don't care, I'll retire this year.

The reason that we have retired from last spike to $20 or about to retire when we go to $40 is because we don't have a child-like attention span.
This is why the West is so fucked. Consume, consume, consume. Think in quarterly profits or single electoral terms.

It depends on the node you run or the pool you stake in. It's completely different to the PoS. LINK has the strongest tokenomics in the space. DYOR.

Great thread as always.
Are you looking at running your own node? Thoughts on LinkPool?

the important thing is not to be tough on yourself. all of us here in 2017 and 2018 needed spoonfeeding on this stuff
the big thing is that you need to understand this from multiple layers
first blockchain (you are missing parts of the puzzle here)
then smart contracts (no, you still don't get this - keep reading)
then chainlink
a big thing that you're really caught on is that truth needs be perfect or "absolute". we're not going to get that in many use cases. but we're going to get as good as we can and that by itself unlocks a lot
again, we were very lucky cos we were surroudned by high iq anons would helped us
you do have everything all in front of you but you have to read and research. so it's easier but harder. but you dont have to deal with the brutal fud from those days
dont spend too much time here tho, just keep an open midn and read and then it will all make sense
good luck

even if you had looked you would have likely not understood
it was a filter for those who actually read and actually research

The best thing is for you to read through the archives.
