Same, I am white and male and both me and my father were born in the USA.

Americans hate their kids.

I have been paying rent to them since graduating college. They have a nice house and a shore house (800k+ just for the shore house).

They purchased the shore house after my father's side grandparents died and they sold their house (I have an aunt so the inheritance was 50/50).
The aunt gave a fair amount of money to her kids so they could pay their houses off quicker.

Now my mom's parents are dead and they sold that house off.

A family friend that was like family also died (no real surviving close relatives) and they will be selling that off.
