Brands don't sell anything: One of the main risks with Kickfurther is that a brand fails to sell their inventory at all. This was a more prominent issue at the beginning of Kickfurther (they launched Jan 2015) but has been decreasing due to improvements in the screening of the brands that they allow on kickfurther. Additionally, if you know what to look for, you can dodge a large majority of these.

My Stats
So far I've taken part in 14 campaigns with just under 2K in the platform. My overall experience has been overall positive. A couple of those campaigns have paid back extremely early compared to their initial set schedule. Of the few brands that have I have experience campaigns, the business owners has posted updates in regards to what is slowing down the schedule which helps ease my mind.

Recommendations / Tips
After being on the platform for almost a year there are a couple of key take aways which will the experience on Kickfurther a lot smoother.

Look for campaigns that have a purchase order associated with them. Essentially, these are pre-sold which means that the risk for issues during the selling period are very low.

Look for how brands distribute their products. I look for larger retailers such as REI, Target, Etc.

Diversify your campaigns. As with anything, not putting all your eggs in one basket is a key strategy.

Kickfurther is a medium - long term method for Manufactured Spending with credit cards(about 6-8 months for me). Kickfurther seems to be constantly improving which means a better experience for newer users.
