Here's something that I used to listen to while studying.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ei7cdynwRMA

Ye best be weary of that which you study
many hours lost on trivialities
Still, wouldn't mind being a student again.
As a student, you're closer to the infantile Other the Western ethos permits you to be

It's strange... I've been researching the fraud of liberty for the past two hours and along comes you all who also are thinking of it.
I'm not a smart man, I can't predict much, I'm not sure what code of law the elite really hold onto, if it is in fact the Bible - I'm not sure if they'll ever take it away, and yet I read testimonials and court cases that show they will.
People locked up for just trying to maintain some sovereignty.

The only thing I can take away from all of this is the absolutely strange bends between the Law of the Jungle and the Law of God.
I'm not even sure who is fighting anymore, what wars there are.
It's terrifying when you begin to comprehend the shadows around you, yet people will call you insane.
I feel insane compared to who I was 6 months ago.

What the fuck happened?

and no way in hell did 123k+ users just magically decide to pump XRP, the whole thing stinks of lazy narrative building. but it provides a plausible story for them to put on the evening news, which i think is the point.

it's my impression that FTM is kind of trying to be XRP. Cronje is a proven scam artist, even if he is capable of making interesting things. Also its initials stand for Female-to-Male which means that it turns anyone who invests in it gay...buyer beware...

In a virtual address to these self-styled “guardians of inclusive capitalism” – among them COP26 special envoy for finance Mark Carney, and the CEOs of Salesforce, Johnson & Johnson, Mastercard, BP, Visa, State Street, Bank of America, as well as State of California treasurer Fiona Ma and OECD secretary-general Angel Gurría

fun game: How many Ripple connections can you spot in this paragraph? I'll start: Mark Carney, head of the G30, notable for calling for/predicting the end of the USD as reserve currency last year

And if BTC went to $10 million I'd be really really rich!

Why would they, rather than just developing their own token that they'd own 100% of? Like they're already doing? Which could be right from the beginning pegged to a basket of currencies and under their control?

I mean, I know the answer is "because I own a bunch of XRP and I want to be a millionaire" but what would be THEIR reason?

>"Like they are already doing"
You mean JPM Coin/Quorum? Yeah that doesn't seem to be going that great considering they farmed it out, I'm not sure how well that will do because other banks wouldn't want to help one of their competitors by using their coin. I imagine it will be useful for intra-bank transfers and inter-bank transfers between banks already affiliated with JPM. That's conjecture, though, I could be wrong.

To answer your question, I think I have to get into some schizo territory and make wild, unfounded assumptions.

First, I think the ideas behind Ripple and XRP has been in development for a lot longer than 9 years or whatever. Some people trace the lineage back to Schwartz' patent from 1988, when he was working at the NSA and filed a patent for distributed ledger networks used to transmit data (or money) but I would even go further back, to the original Bretton Woods conference, when James Maynard Keynes and E.F. Schumacher (who I really, really like and encourage everyone to read his book Small is Beautiful because he lays out the way we can build the better world that will come after this one), when they proposed the Bancor currency, which would be an international/supranational currency used in settling cross-border payments, as a kind of intermediary, pegged to precious metals (Banc d'or i.e. gold bank).

This ended up not being adopted, instead being replaced by the IMF's SDRs or "Special Drawing Rights." Ripple is the culmination of these ideas.
