I got some new insights in just how much IV can influence an option value.

Remember, losing money is fine if you learn something from it and improve.

What is your standard profit taking for options, write niggers?
I usually set it at 70%, but I am starting to think it might actually be too high and I want to try to go down to 50%.
I only let them expire when Im really lazy.

Reminder that holding anything but gold, niche stocks and puts over this weekend is brave at best and retarded at worst.
This market could go tits up if Korea or Japan get hit and und unlike in China its hard(er) to supress news there. Factories might be closed soon or even more panic might ensue.

And if a car made in Germany lacks a chip made in China, the car will not be delivered. If a console made in Japan lacks plastics from Korea, then it can not be shipped to 11 year olds in NYC or London.
Our whole economy is basically running without storage capacities, just-in-time production. And one small hickup can fuck us over more than you can imagine.

Not saying it WILL be that severe. Just saying it might be. And we should hedge in some form. God willing, you will never use the shotgun under youre bed but it better be there if you have to.
