this is a map of where tonal languages (like mandarin) are spoken. speakers of tonal languages find it a lot easier to learn each others' language than to learn others.

i think the dots in panama are for like mayan or something so i'm not sure if that's relevant to today. but this map is all you need to explain why china will dominate africa.
