They're not even remotely the same situation... GME actually had a plausible thesis that actually played out, melvin got liquidated and the company lived. BBBY going bankrupt is a foregone conclusion. The price can hit $500 a share and that wont save the company. There isnt enough time between an approval for dilution from the SEC and defaulting on debts. They literally do not have the cash or credit to make payments on debt or cover operation cost. We're talking weeks until they cant keep the lights on or make the lease payments. This christmas was it, make or break, and they broke.
