Since gas prices are reaching a breaking point for many, alt-eth solutions like Fantom, Polkadot, Avax etc are gaining momentum. All of these solutions and their dapps lack the liquidity of Eth apps (eg. Pangolian, Funi, Polkaswap do not compare to the TVL of Uni/ Sushiswap). There's the possibility for any one of these chains to eventually gain an edge over Eth's ecosystem, and we can see that momentum through the recent explosive price action of these projects. However I think the ideal solution is not for these silo'd dapp forks to take liquidity from eth, but for these chains to be integrated into the existing Eth ecosystem.

Currently, Anyswap, a dex that facilitates cross chain swaps is working on something with Sushiswap. I think theres a possibility that Sushi wants to leverage Anyswap's bridge technology and potentially bring more of the yEarn ecosystem to other chains. Fantom is one of the chains being bridged via AnySwap and is notable because its advised by Andre Cronje the creator of yEarn--a fact which Fantom shillers never cease to remind everyone of. I'm not here to shame bag holders who want an alternative to eth, any one of these projects can come out on top, or even work in tandem, this is just a very speculative take on what I think could happen (obviously). Things are coming to a head and we'll find out what works soon enough.
