I like me my numismatics too. It's fun and old school geeky. That said, I'm big on silver and gold being actual money.
Very few people alive today were around when silver and gold were actually money. Nobody was around when it wasn't leveraged to shit. You look at the historical prices in dollars and what you're actually looking at is the slow, attempted murder of the silver based dollar by various bookkeeping shenanigans. Pic rel. You go back to the Crime of (18)73 when silver was demonetized for the first attempted assassination of real money.
