Gotta love cheapies, I remember the masonic badge that was a killer score. I wouldn't quit the day job but as a hobby it sure beats IQDELET's love of harvesting used condoms in 3rd world shitholes. One of my favorite gold slurps last year was this little antique 14k diamond ring at the front of the scale for $4.24 at Goodwill, I've found many heavier pieces but antique diamonds are cool, I can almost taste the suffering of the enslaved 'groids who mined it.

Verified how? I like buying cheap scrap gold but there are many risks especially for ignorant noobs. A hallmark doesn't guarantee anything as counterfeit jewelry with superficially convincing hallmarks that are just plated with gold over silver or base metal is plentiful. If it is an objective fact that it is 18k gold then you'd be a retard not to buy such cheapies. What's the background story, is your grandma selling off old legit jewelry or have you been approached by some random Gypsy?

>What’s everyone think about purchasing wearable jewellery under spot

It's a good idea if you're getting it below the purchase price of refineries, enjoy the hunt for cheapies as its own hobby, and are good enough at sniffing out cheapies that it's an efficient use of the free time devoted to it. I don't wear any jewelry and neither does my woman she doesn't even have her ears pierced, so I would only keep the very best and most liquid/desirable pieces and then I'd send the rest to my bros at PG&G to have turned into 1/10ozt rounds which consistently sell for $240-260 each on eBay. Refined fractional gold bullion that no one makes fakes/counterfeits of (yet) is about as liquid as it gets. I've seen enough fake gold jewelry to not trust it without touchstone acid testing and would never accept it in barter at a premium over melt so converting the worst stuff to proper bullion might be wise.

Good news lads, I dug out my diamond tester and the stone in the antique 14k ring I got cheap at goodwill yesterday is indeed a diamond. Since it's an old ring I'm sure the stone is genuine instead of a fake and gay simulated lab-grown piece. Heading back soon to scrutinize the other jewelry trays more closely.

Thanks fren, I'm not worried about release agents presently but need that "mold powder" or whatever effectively removes impurities, blooms of crud on top of poured bars are lame.

After dropping off another 7+ kilos of scrap silver and picking up my 7 1/10oz gold rounds from the refinery I hit a Goodwill and scooped up 3 grams of 14k gold ($113 melt) for $8.48 and 4 nice pewter goblets weighing 676g ($17 melt) for $4.24. Luv me instant 10-baggers frens, happy hunting.
