Normies tend to mimic popular opinions from society friends and family without much critical thinking since copying other peoples ideas especially popular ones saves time and personal effort. This is an effective strategy for a normie since a concept created by a specialist or expert will generally be a safer and better option than any original creation from a casual.
Since a significant portion of the population does this to varying degrees, ideas and opinions spread like a fire where the thought process of the individuals spreading them is like the moisture level of the wood. When these people who rely on the evaluation skills of others are surrounded by people telling them that something is a good idea they will adapt their opinion to that of the mob under what is normally a personally if not logically safe assumption and make mass decisions that make no sense to someone who takes all ideas with a grain of salt. This is how cults work too and if you watch OPs video you will notice that Bitconnect looks *a bit* like a cult.
