I had a similar experience when I was day trading oil futures on fairly high leverage.. +/- $3000 every day, drove me insane. I lost sleep, and was based in Seoul during that time. So to follow the markets live, I had to trade between 10:00 pm - 5:00 am, then barely get any sleep, and get up at 8:00 am to go to work, where I would monitor all my trades from my office. It was absolute hell. Took a capital loss as expected. Mental health and physical health was -100000% and I was getting reckless and stupid with my trades.

Am I supposed to report the trade in scenario #1 even though there is no fiat difference? No tax owed as no cap gain/loss - but it still has to reported I'm a disgusting ChinkShitCoin holder officially on record?
Or can it be reported just in scenario #2 as there was a non-zero capital gain?
