I think /biz/ is the best place to ask about this. What is realistically the future of Russian economy in the coming year and forwards? Its kind of hard to find non-biased sources, as one side just screams about sanctions killing Russia in a few months, while the other is screams about Oil trade with India/China somehow negating getting cut off from global markets. Neither really manages to put coherent and non-emotional arguments as to why the situation is good/bad for Russia.

But what is the realistic prognosis? Is the stabilization of Rouble successful in the long-term? How about day-to-day industry opperations, will they be able to replace foreign goods that get embargoed? Or how about the public sector, will the government manage to maintain a budget to keep opperational costs up for running healthcare and other social services? Is the oil trade with India and China a big deal, and will the eventual shutdown of European oil trade once EU establishes new supply lines matter at all? What's the likely situation in the next couple of months, after a year?
