Well the issue is that there is no significant advantage with money market accounts over savings at the moment. The highest savings rates are at about 2% for both.

The Robinhood account is classified as a cash management account, not a money market account, however, and the way they've set it up it seems like there's a higher risk of it breaking the buck since it doesn't have FDIC insurance, making it more like a money market fund than a money market account.

Money market funds, although more risky than money market accounts, are generally safer than forex or gold since it's really quite rare that you loose money on your principal, and even when it's happened it's only been by a couple of cents.
