If we have a financial crisis mines in South Africa will likely suffer a lot and platinum will go up!
Plainum is around 30 times more scarce than gold and if you have a black swan event that takes off over half of its mining production it will be 60 times more scare at least! so at a worst case scenario you will have something that is slightly more valuable than gold, add a little demand for it on other forms or even as a PGM asset and you have it going up and being more valuable than gold
