Yeah, I think Canada's bubble is actually far worse than everyone thinks, and it's gonna explode spectacularly. The extreme calm/delusion everyone has in saying "we could never have a 2008, our lending is too responsible" makes me even more wary. The only question to me is how long it takes.

If I were you I would spend the absolute cheapest amount of money to commute from a ted-shack 1 hour outside any major city, or live in the US and commute to Canada.
