Yes, the ideal scenario for any cryptocurrency is long term non-investorial holding, that is why I think Monero's increasing involvement in black and grey matter activities is a tremendous bonus when compared to other alts or bitcoin. Parallel and circular economies mean a passive acceptance of the use of the currency in question. This not only creates demand, but also starts stabilizing prices as goods and services will start to be priced in terms of XMR rather than USD and use XMR for the payment. The empirical rise of the base price is unsurprising, but there aren't many years of DNM usage so there are basically 2 data points that we are looking at. Promising nonetheless since the shadow CPI is actually higher (also CPI is not the most accurate method of measuring inflation, I wonder what does XMR's price look like compared to something like the NDQ or the M1/2)

The github is slow, you can join the IRC/matrix directly and just listen around, or there is https://libera.monerologs.net/monero-research-lab which should be mostly live. But yes, slow and steady are exactly the words for the current monero development. The prospects of L2 and better atomic swaps is still on the horizon.
