Looking at Germany, as of 2020 there are still 6.6 Billion DMark in cash floating around. At 80 Million Germans that's 80 Mark per Person on average. Of course there's a lot of "Germans" that have never seen DMark, so that ought to be distributed differently and a lot of that is certainly lost forever, but there must be quite a few folks who willingly have hundreds of Marks that they could easily exchange into €uros, yet they don't.
So I guess that
