First class seats aren't for people that care about cost efficiency or "getting your money's worth". It's pure vanity, for people that have so much money that they can choose the most expensive/best option possible (before having a private jet) as default with no worry about cost.

It's like those with $4000 gaming computers that confidently checks all the highest graphics settings possible as default without worry even if it's not the most CPU/GPU efficient setting or even if it's not the best looking setting (Bloom effects on max sucks).
