Sure, that works now. But if inflation gets out of hand, it'll be harder. Already the banks are stingy about withdrawing cash. And the EU has also voted in new legislation to reduce the maximum legal amount to 7000 EUR per cash transaction. Granted this last part doesn't directly affect you if you're operating off the books, but it shows that they're tightening the screws. Ultimately their plan is to remove cash altogether and replace it with a CBDC. What better way to achieve that goal than to allow inflation to run rampant? We haven't really seen much inflation yet, but I'm betting it will accelerate next year.
