if you have no idea what you are doing and do not want to spend hours and hours evaluating businesses then yes; buy VTI or VOO every month, never sell and when you have 2 million invested take out loans from the banks against your portfolio and use the dividends to pay them back. that is how you avoid capital gains tax and it is what the rich do.
