MakerDAO is pretty cool. Takes a while to understand, was shilling this shit non-stop with a Kanye pic months ago. You don't buy the MKR token, you just use the system. (well except for a tiny amount of MKR to cover your loan fee, which is like 2% per annum?)

Basically it enables you to become your own bank. Put in ETH, lend yourself DAI (which is a 1$ peg) and can then withdraw the $ to your bank account without having to sell your ETH. Soon stable to stablecoin pegs will come with 2-3x leverage if I am not wrong. Word of warning though, super risky. Got liquidated in March on 25% of my holdings because I am a retard. It's like SALT, instead you can do it all by yourself without having to trust a third party. And similar to ETHLend, except you don't need a P2P loan. I have spoken to some devs about it, and other platforms are working on implementing a similar system.

Shilling this bullshit again. Hey it's me the "MakerDAO", "Decentralize everything" guy. Friendly reminder that JNT is a incredibly stupid purchase, the DAO will not buy JNT from markets (it literally can't without being a DAO) and customers of Jibrel will not purchase millions of JNT from the orderbooks with slippage to then purchase some jCash and buy a digitalized asset keklol.

I am sorry but this is not going to take off, the same reason why SALT is not taking off. Jibrel is not scamming you but the devs and team are definitely taking you for a ride. Just put Jibrel through a basic thought experiment:

- Seller with 5$ million in physical assets.
- Buyer with 5$ million in fiat value

How do you expect the buyer to get exactly 5$ mil in jCash or Jibrel? I would move the market up 20% with less than 500k already, let alone 5$ million. The only current way Jibrel can solve this is by giving buyers the option to buy JNT in fiat directly at a fixed platform price. Or let buyers deposit funds in fiat instead of JNT to jCash conversion.

Secondly, the underlying digital/physical asset needs to be stored with Jibrel. Do you really believe entities over the world will be entrusting a young startup with 5$ million in assets, do you really think Jibrel even has the capacity to securely store such assets right now? No. Jibrel is a great idea, but the execution is shitty. All this token will be good for will be burning of fee, which will be a fairly negligible amount.

Go with MakerDAO which already works and offers a service right now.
And also watch for similar services like Jibrel which do not suck as hard.
