There's very little reason to think a recession is no longer happening. Firstly, inflation may still force Powell's hand, even if it doesn't the underling economic problems remains the same.

>The labor market is tight.
>The trade war is ongoing.
>Leverage is increasing across the economy and so are defaults.
>The housing market is stalling.
>Retained earnings in durable manufactured goods is stagnating (something no one is talking about btw).
>The FAANGS are loosing steam, and Facebook, Alphabet, and Apple have all seen their retained earnings take a dive.

None of these things can be magically fixed by a more dovish fed.
