Jesus is Risen, you must choose to be a light, including in where you invest. That's one reason I avoid trying to soak in these bubble runs. Latest sucker isn't of interest to me, it just makes an unhappy neighbor of the "sucker".

I can't say they're Christian, but I feel better about them than others. FNBA, SCHI, SCHP might have value, but it's too soon to tell. I have a small investment account with schwab, and I am not an advisor, you ought not take advise from random strangers.

Stock is one way of getting necessary cash for business expansion or operations. In exchange for some say (HA!) and often an expectation of profits (dividends), a person with excess cash will offer to trade partial ownership for said cash. The more valuable the shares, the more ownership can be sold for.

Technically, this is a double-edged sword, because a business that was well operated and tightly controlled, in some cases, is far better off not having all that excess input or outflow of cash. Modern share framing normally eliminates most of the say of minor shareholders, but the risk of hostile takeover still exists.

Another way to think of this, the more people are buying the stock, the more people are interested in the success of the business. Those may or may not be employees, but they hold a literal vested interest in returning their money. They will then be more likely to buy the product, market the product, and intervene to sustain their value.
