What is the best trade platform when developing a trade bot? Most importantly, which platform offers an API to place trades and have low fees for both small & big traders? If I can get access to price data for free or cheap (for backtesting purposes) that would also be a huge plus. My capital as of now is small, but I'd prefer to stick with the same platform if I increase my holdings.

I've previously looked into developing a crypto bot, but going away from it now due to the very unpredictable market as well as lack of free/cheap frequent price-data, and instead looking into other reliable options such as stocks and primary forex. I've never really invested or traded outside crypto. I've done some research on local stock exchanges, and they are fairly limited in amount of stocks (mostly only local ones from my EU country), shorting, API-access/documentation and leverage-trading. The fees are also very high at around ~0,25% per trade for "small" traders.

Do anyone have experience with this? I'm as of now primarily looking into forex but I have no experience with it whatsoever, and I have no idea what platforms might be good options.

Any relevant information regarding this; bot-trading, low fees, good platforms, forex etc. is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
