Reposting in new thread for more visibility:

“I've always told people that what they should expect is something like the collapse of Argentina. Argentina used to be an extremely wealthy and prosperous country, just like America and the West today, so understanding what Argentina looked like after its currency collapse is extremely instructive as to what the West in general will look like. It got very bad there but it wasn't like, and is not like the prepper's perpetual-nightmare fantasy. Dominic Frisby gives a brief overview of post-collapse Argentina here (see timestamp):

https://youtu.be/og4YhOc2f2w?t=1210

1970s Britain is also an interesting parallel which follows.”

If you get curious to keep watching this documentary, skip over the annoying MoneyWeek ad and go straight to https://youtu.be/og4YhOc2f2w?t=2218 for the Weimar-Germany parallel with Britain today.

The advice which this documentary gave at the time before Youtube purged it was to buy gold, which in retrospect was pretty sound given that the FTSE has gone nowhere while gold has doubled."

Bear in mind that your conception of what a fiat-collapse looks like is probably influenced by a lot of fud.

"See picture. You could buy a mansion in Weimar Germany for only five ounces of gold. It's a myth that everything looks like a Fallout game when a currency collapses. That's what they WANT you to think. As if we couldn't survive without predatory banks printing fiat money. Truth is, yes, there's a period of some months where you have severe destabilization, but all that ultimately happens is that you get wiped out if you're holding paper.

"Once the old Reichsmark had been thoroughly obliterated, the return to a stable currency was so absurdly simple as to become known as the "miracle of the Rentenmark." The Rentenmark was placed in circulation beside the devalued Reichsmark and carried no real value of its own but the naked avowal that there would be only so many Rentenmarks and no more.""

>I'm not sure crypto will go to 0
See Alasdair Macleod's writings, when Russia now owns more gold than dollars and the Asian nations are hoarding gold, gold will be the new money after the dollar gets dumped and crypto will immediately have no purpose and go to zero in terms of gold. It's pumped because of the MSM and tether just as stocks are pumped by Q. E.
>So do you think the housing market will crash then?
Yes, it will in terms of gold. It costs about 200 ounces to buy a normal house today but you only needed 5 ounces to buy a mansion in Weimar Germany. 9x earnings is not a normal price for a house.

Buying allocated bullion (not SLV) contributes to silver squeeze, and when silver goes to $1000 an ounce you're really not going to care whether it's in your own hand or in a vault in Switzerland.

Russia and China will force them to do when they dump the dollar. If you don't have metals in the post-fiat world you won't be able to buy any production from the productive nations.

>It ends when the state’s fiat currency is finally worthless.

That's exactly the event which you just described, anon. The New Reichsmark fixed the problem (this is why people who talk about economic collapses as being like Fallout games are fools), trouble is if you were holding the old Reichsmark you got wiped out. The modern parallel is holding dollars as well as being invested in any bubble (mainstream stocks, real estate, cryptocurrencies).

Remember, you could buy a mansion in Weimar Germany for 5 ounces of gold.
