DNM adoption has lagged earlier on but the tide is really starting to shift. The fastest growing market this year is White House Market and they deal exclusively with Monero, and every dark net forum is now preaching to use Monero instead of Bitcoin. I hold that within 18 months Monero will be used in the majority of dark net transactions.
There just needs to be a switch from people who are just using Monero to wash their Bitcoins, and those just using and staying in Monero. This is the last stage to take place, and when this happens we will finally win the dark net.
And what happens after that is we can point to this underground economy and say "See, these individuals actually use our cryptocurrency, because it's better than Bitcoin. It has more of a use case".
