Bao is the aim to create Synthetic Tokens. Think of a statistic you would like a token for, if it can be oraclised it can be turned into a synthetic token. For example, say I would like to long Hollywood. Not the town, nor a specific studio, but Hollywood is the conglomeration of Film Studios that make up Hollywood. I could create a token that tracked the earnings of the 5 major studios: Universal, Paramount, Warner Brothers, Disney and Columbia.
This token would then respond to how well those 5 companies perform over a given period. So I can then buy or sell these tokens, but more than that, I can actually setup options on this coin. I go long x10 if I wanted.
Now this has been done already with UMA but Bao wants this is Sushi's play at it, with added functionality. More bells and whistles.
Bao stands for Balancer, Automation and Options. So It will have Margin trading, Lending Pools, Options/ Perpetual futures, and Auto-Balancer systems, meaning you can balance your synthetic asset.
It's the full fucking package. It's the full package and after a measly 5 weeks it's already been headhunted by the third-top DEX.
Sushi, incidentally, is where UMA goes through for 93% of it's volume. UMA has a $570M Market cap. Sushiswap know all about it, and yet they chose BAO.
SNX has a market cap of $1.8 BILLION.
Bao has a market cap of less than 5 million dollars.
