Is Etherium a viable alternative to bitcoin? Will a single Etherium ever rise above a thousand dollars?

I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
The only thing that's real
The needle tears a hole
The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away
But I remember everything

What have I become?
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know
Goes away in the end
You could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt

I wear this crown of shit
Upon my liar's chair
Full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair
Beneath the stains of time
The feelings disappear
You are someone else
I am still right here

What have I become?
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know
Goes away in the end
And you could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt

If I could start again
A million miles away
I would keep myself
I would find a way

I am sick of this fucking Ethereum wallet shit, I was sick of it a year ago, and most likely I'll be sick of it in a year and in a decade.

>No official light wallet, mist and Parity are fucking garbage autism developer tools that can take days to sync or fail completely. To hell with the users
> MyEtherWallet kind of worked for a while but fails with autism messages like "invalid argument 0: json: cannot unmarshal hex number with leading zero digits into Go struct field CallArgs.value of type *hexutil.Big" or "intrinsic gas too low" now. Version updates and browser changes don't help
>Exodus and Jaxx could work but contrary to what some tutorials claim the former isn't making private key imports possible on my system, and I'm not sure whether I can trust them anyway
>ForkDelta and IDEX work to send with private keys but I don't want to give these websites access to more funds than necessary
>MetaMask looked like it could work, but only generates transactions with "bad jump destination" errors no matter how high I set the gas
>If I ever get one of these to work again, it's guaranteed to get destroyed again in a few months

Why are all wallets garbage, anon?

Should I try jaxx? It will probably fail too. I'm tired of wasting my time on this shit.

Any solutions? Any super light weight basic wallet that just works, I don't even care for usability if I can get it to work?

Is there a safer investment in Ether?
I could gamble on shitcoins, but I see no reason to not just throw
80k into ether and use the remaining 20k to spread around on altcoins.
I can understand you guys with a couple thousand investing all in on an alt coin,
but I see tons of people with tens of thousands in LINK and other shit.
Why risk what you have built in this death game?

I'm thinking of buying month by month one cryptocurrency during this year, using part of my salary. Is it an intelligent idea to do this with Ethereum, with the goal of selling it by January 2020?
