Biggest mistake I made in life - I fucked up retirement planning., I'm conformable but that just ain't good enough. Start saving when you start your first real job and never stop until you retire.

City hall probably has a senior affairs office. Visit them - they know every program to assist seniors - utility subsidies, senior housing, transportation programs, food programs / meals on wheels. Of course you need to be low income for most of these programs, but you never know what available unless you ask.

Retired disabled Boomer here. I miss work - every day I had interesting work with difficult problems to solve, assholes to my best friend as co-workers, and a reason to get out of bed in the morning. I'm currently learning TA to keep busy but it's not the same.
